"...a deliciously mischievous life cycle opera...This film is about as close to nature as art will ever get...an unmissable treat." (The Evening Standard)

"‘Dunbar’s imagination and Kent Nagano’s adapted score are a delight - a splendid alternative to Jungle Book" (Classic fM)

"There is a clear feeling that both musicians and producers have genuinely attempted to remain as true to the composer’s wishes as possible. Of equal importance in this reviewer’s opinion is the hope that this delightful production may bring new admirers to what is surely one of the most magical of all operas." (Musicweb International)
